Painting Series

While living and studying art in Europe, my early appreciation of art was heavily influenced by the European Expressionism, mainly by the group of "Der Blaue Reiter" which included such great artists as: Wassily Kandinsky, Gabriele Mueter, August Macke, Paul Klee and Max Beckman.

After emigrating to Canada, the Group of Seven and Emily Carr bacame an influence in interpreting the Canadian Landscape, together with the literary inspiration by Canadian Poetry.

My landscapes reflect my love of the outdoors and are mostly painted and conceived while travelling and camping. I aim to give life to nature by the use of primary colours, breaking the landscape into colour and shapes, while keeping from becoming abstract by adding realistic images.
